Baby Blanket

I began working on this baby blanket at the very end of February. It is for my cousin Amy's daughter, Lindsay. Her due date is mid April so I am hoping to get this done but I am not making great progress. I am about a 1/4th of the way there. I usually knit while I am watching TV which is the problem because I haven't done that lately with other stuff going on. Hopefully I can be lazy soon.

Things I learned:

- How to switch colors. You aren’t supposed to tie off ends, but I did. I liked how it looked since it pulled together better

Time: 1 day

Needles: 10 ½ regular

Yarn: (Anut yarn) multi medium worsted Red Heart

Cast on 7 stitches

Knit until 8 inches long

Cast off

Things I learned:

- Purling. If I knit and then purl, knit, purl, then it will be a flatter pattern. I can't believe how long it took me to figure this out. I was ticked off for about 3 hours when I couldn't figure out the pattern.

Learning to Knit

It all started in December 2007 when I emailed my relatives and told them I wanted crochet and/or knitting needles and lessons for Christmas. I thought my aunt, Anut Judy (spelling correct) was a crocheter, turns out she's a master knitter. So on December 26, all the girl cousins got some yarn, needles, and a knitting bag. Anut even gave lessons. After leaving the boy cousins bored and thinking christmas was ruined forever, I decided to put down the knitting and begin again over our Ocean Shores vacation. That is where all the action begins.....

Note: Rabbi, my sweet baby blanket, was knitted (not once but TWICE, after an unfortunate accident with Tyler Marrs and fire...yes, I am still with the arsonist) by the one and only Anut. Rabbi is my inspiration.
